Frequently Asked Questions

What's your availability?

Currently, I see clients on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Do you take insurance?

Work with athletes on the mental game of sports is not currently covered by insurance.

How much do you charge? How do I pay?

My fees are $150.00 for the initial 50 minute session where I assess your athlete and recommend the package that will most benefit your athlete. See fees and forms for a more detailed explanation of the packages. Payment can be made by cash or check at the end of the session. For your convenience, I also offer pre-pay online via payPal with your credit card.

What will be discussed when I first call?

During the initial phone consultation we will discuss your concerns possible ways I can help. At this time you are able to ask any questions that you might have and we will set up the initial assessment.

How many sessions will I need?

After the initial assessment, we will discuss the package that works best for you; 6, 8, or 10-session package. Generally I see the athlete weekly but am flexible with athletic schedules.

How long does each session last?

After the initial session, the first 2 package sessions are 50 minutes with subsequent sessions lasting 30 minutes.

What if I need to cancel a session?

It's no problem to cancel or postpone a session as long as you do so 24-hours beforehand. You will forfeit a package session for any cancellations less than 24-hours before your session start time.

Are sessions private and confidential?

All sessions and information are kept private and confidential. Please be aware, however, that there are situations where I am legally bound to disclose confidential and private information:
- There is reasonable suspicion of abuse to a child, elderly person or other vulnerable adult.
- The client presents as a serious danger to himself/herself or others.
- The case file is court ordered by a judge.
In the case of athletes under the age of 18, I ask the parents to sign a release to give that person limited confidentiality. Form is found on the fees and forms tab.

How will I benefit from therapy? Is it right for me?

If you or your athlete is experiencing any issues that make it difficult for you to perform to your potential, working with a sports therapist will teach you how to perform more consistently. The most productive and beneficial results come from those athletes who spend time daily working the mental strategies.

What can I expect in my first session?

During the first session, we'll get to know each other, and answer any questions you may have. I will then do an assessment to find out exactly what is causing your performance inconsistencies. At the end I will give you my assessment of the best plan of action.

I'm ready to start. What do I do next?

You can call or email me to ask any questions that you many have about therapy. (There is no charge for a phone consultation). From there, we'll schedule your first session, and I'll direct you to fill out forms for our first meeting.
